On January 18th, the 2026 Silk Road Global Fashion International Fashion Week and the Xiqiao Fashion Week reached its climax. Through a series of high-profile events such as the Global Fashion Alliance Industry Cooperation Exchange Conference, designer exhibitions, and award ceremonies, the industrial strength of "Xiqiao Fabrics" was showcased, facilitating its transition from an industrial base to a global brand, and assisting the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry in Nanhai.
This event focused on industrial cooperation. Key figures from the international and domestic fashion industry gathered at the Global Fashion Alliance Industry Cooperation Exchange Conference with representatives from local enterprises in Xiqiao. They discussed in-depth topics such as fabric procurement and design collaboration. On the spot, Modjie Fashion signed a cooperation agreement with Yimian Dyeing and Weaving, the Asian Model Association with Langzhouda Shoes, and Tianyi Design with Dianlunxing. These agreements covered key aspects such as design innovation, brand promotion, and the transformation of intangible cultural heritage, aiming to extend the value of the Xiqiao textile industry chain.
Jiang Fuzhang, the deputy town mayor of Xiqiao Town, disclosed during the exchange that Xiqiao produces 4 billion meters of textile fabrics annually, with 840 (884,137) textile enterprises gathered there. The annual output value of the downstream enterprises exceeds 15 billion yuan. It is a globally important production base for denim fabrics. 25% of the denim fabric used in global jeans comes from Xiqiao. This cooperation with the Global Fashion Alliance aims to extend the industry towards the fashion sector and enhance the value of the entire chain.
As an important supporting party of the event, the Zhongguancun Global Fashion Creative Industry Alliance has a global resource network and is the sole Chinese strategic partner of the Milan Fashion Week. The vice-chairperson of the alliance, Wu Wei, stated that through services such as resource matching, standard setting, and property protection, they will help the enterprises in Xiqiao shift from "supplying materials for international brands" to "co-creating with international brands", and enhance the global influence of "Xiqiao fabrics".
At the award ceremony that night, local brands such as Wanxiang Youwei and Yicun Yanzhi showcased their original fabric design works on the catwalk, vividly presenting the fashionable appeal of "Xiqiao fabrics" to global audiences.

In terms of leading the fashion trend, Xiqiao has 19 intangible cultural heritage projects and actively promotes their integration with fashion. The Sino-French Design Center has pushed the intangible cultural heritage fabrics to the forefront of international fashion; the Global Fashion Alliance Intangible Cultural Heritage Fashion Research Institute has established a regular connection platform; the Indigo Patternology has been featured at the International Art and Creativity Exhibition of the Louvre in France; and the Jeans Life Festival has explored a new path of "production - tourism - culture - sales" integration.
In terms of leading the innovation trend, the enterprises in Xiqiao have been actively engaged in technological research and digital transformation. Currently, five enterprises including Mingjie Textile have been rated as municipal-level digital demonstration workshops, and "Digital Transformation of the Nanhai Textile Cluster" has been selected as a pilot project at both municipal and district levels. In the field of industry standards, the enterprises in Xiqiao have led the formulation of 12 international standards, released and implemented 10 group standards, and participated in the formulation of national group standards, achieving a leap from "following standards" to "formulating standards". In addition, Xiqiao has reached a 20-year deep cooperation with the China Textile Federation and established the China Textile Federation Testing Center. This year, a national comprehensive innovation center will be constructed to improve the full-chain technical service capabilities.
